RandomCoords is built with a love for maps, geography, and randomness. It's a free and lightweight utility web app that lets you generate random geographic coordinates (points or polygons) anywhere on Earth. These coordinates are sometimes referred to as GPS coordinates, representing latitude and longitude.
You can generate random coordinates globally or within specific regions or countries, making it useful for testing, analysis, or exploration within a chosen area.
Whether you're a developer or QA engineer testing location-based apps, a GIS learner experimenting with maps, a designer or artist looking for creative inspiration, a geography student or teacher exploring new places, a geocacher hunting new ideas, a traveler, or simply someone curious about random places, RandomCoords gives you real coordinates to work with.
Works in the browser across desktop, tablet, and mobile, with no signup or setup required.
Results appear directly on the interactive map, and you can copy or export your data in multiple formats including JSON, GeoJSON, CSV, and KML.
A free REST API and Node.js and Python SDKs are also available for developers.
RandomCoords is continually evolving, expanding the list of supported countries and adding features to make the app more valuable for users.
Country and subdivision outline maps shown across the app are generated from public-domain shapefiles published by Natural Earth. Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap contributors and rendered with Leaflet.
